Athena Coin Ring
Athena Coin Ring
This ring features a 24k gold coin from the era of Alexander the Great, set in a meticulously crafted 18k gold band. The coin showcases the exquisite art of ancient coin engraving. On the obverse, the coin portrays Athena, the goddess of wisdom and warfare, in a Corinthian helmet, a style inspired by the famous Athens “owl” tetradrachms. The helmet's design, with hair flowing through the eye holes, adds a unique aesthetic touch different from typical battle wear. The reverse side is a tribute to Nike, the Goddess of Victory. Here, Nike is shown with a laurel wreath and part of a Greek ship’s stern, symbolizing Greece's triumph over Persia in the Battle of Salamis. The engraving stands out for its detailed and expressive depiction of Nike, showcasing the extraordinary skill of the ancient die engraver
